Chestnut tree in art nouveau patterns for wood carving, wallpaper and borders. Lithograph by J. Milesi with pochoir (stencil) handcoloring from Eugene Grasset's Plants and their Application to Ornament, Paris, 1897. Eugene Grasset (1841-1917) was a Swiss artist whose innovative designs inspired the art nouveau movement at the end of the 19th century.
