Artist's Description

Chrysanthemum in art nouveau patterns for wallpapers, borders and a wrought iron candelabra. Lithograph by A. Poidevin with pochoir (stencil) handcoloring from Eugene Grasset's “Plants and their Application to Ornament,” Paris, 1897. Eugene Grasset (1841-1917) was a Swiss artist whose innovative designs inspired the “art nouveau” movement at the end of the 19th century.
