Clio. Dated: 1900. Dimensions: book: 20.5 x 14.8 x 2 cm (8 1/16 x 5 13/16 x 13/16 in.). Medium: bound volume with 42 wood-engraved illustrations on Chine paper, including 1 illustrated cover heightened with gold, 1 title with vignette, 12 color engravings (7 full-page), and a lower cover device. The cover and 12 illustrations are each present in 3 states, as a monochrome, in color, and as published; the vignette for the lower cover is present in 2 states. Museum: National Gallery of Art, Washington DC. Author: Alphonse Marie Mucha and Anatole France (author).
