Artist's Description

The iris in patterns for fabrics and tiles. Lithograph by E. Hervegh with pochoir (stencil) handcoloring from Eugene Grasset's “Plants and their Application to Ornament,” Paris, 1897. Eugene Grasset (1841-1917) was a Swiss artist whose innovative designs inspired the “art nouveau” movement at the end of the 19th century.
