The iris in patterns for fabrics and tiles. Lithograph by E. Hervegh with pochoir (stencil) handcoloring from Eugene Grasset's Plants and their Application to Ornament, Paris, 1897. Eugene Grasset (1841-1917) was a Swiss artist whose innovative designs inspired the art nouveau movement at the end of the 19th century.
